Ingredients:
For the Cake-
1 cup chopped, toasted pecans
1 box yellow cake mix + 1/4 cup flour
1 box instant vanilla pudding (4 servings size)
4 eggs
1/2 cup cold milk
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1/2 dark rum (they used Sailor Jerry, but you can use any dark spiced rum)
For the Glaze-
1 stick unsalted butter
1/4 cup water
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup dark rum
Preparation:
Preheat oven to 325 degrees F.
Grease and flour a bundt pan, and sprinkle pecans on the bottom.
Combine all cake ingredients in a large bowl and beat for 2 minutes with an electric mixer.
Pour into pan and bake for 45 minutes to an hour.
Test the cake by inserting a toothpick in center, if it comes out clean then the cake is done
To make the glaze:
melt the butter in a saucepan, and add sugar and water.
Boil 5 minutes and stir constantly.
Remove from heat and add rum.
Pour about half of the glaze over the cake while it's still in the pan and let it soak it up.
Invert cake onto a platter and pour remaining glaze over the top.
